Essential Functions
- Experience in gas turbine combined cycle power plants
- Understanding of combined cycle operations and impact of operations on HRSGs
- Understanding of HRSG components, metallurgy and impact of steam/water conditions on components
- Understanding of ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Codes Section I and VIII
- Basic understanding of water chemistry and impact on HRSG components
- General knowledge of valves and instrumentation and how incorporated in HRSG operations
- Provide technical support/consultation to clients
- Execute visual inspection and NDE of HRSG pressure parts and auxiliary equipment
- Compile inspection results and create recommendation reports; interact and present management inspection data and maintenance recommendations to plant engineers
- Assistant to HRSG Division Manager
- Technician will be required to also provide inspection support on fossil-fueled boilers as needed, although the primary responsibility will be combined cycle plants
Job Requirements
- 2-year technical degree or equivalent in work related experience
- Power plant maintenance, industrial maintenance, or boiler related experience preferred
- Ability to work and not be affected by confined spaces or elevated heights above ground elevation
- Ability to travel extensively
- Ability to work unsupervised and in a team environment
- Strong analytical ability, mechanical aptitude, and willingness to learn
- Strong PC based computer skills (Word and Excel)
- Ability to collect and analyze plant operating data to determine impact on HRSG components
- Ability to assist in root cause failure analysis of HRSG components
