The electrode assistant provides the suggested welding rod
and pre-heat/ post-heat temperature treatments (if applicable)
for the two materials of interest defined by the user. In
addition, this program also provides a detailed description
of the defined material’s thresholds (i.e. tensile
strength, temperature limits, etc.)
As depicted to the right, the user has selected a dissimilar
metal weld of SA-213-T22 and SA-213-TP347H materials with
a defined thickness of >1-1/2 < 2-1/2. The assistant
automatically provides the AWS suggested electrode and a
brief material description.
This software application is programmed with AWS suggested
electrodes. It can also be programmed to accommodate independent
facility welding procedures as well.

The material assistant
allows the user to search by various material grades, tensile
strengths, and maximum temperature ratings. Once a material
is selected, all relevant data is displayed including max.
temperature, tensile strength, material hardness, material/
chemical composition, and recommended electrode. The screen
illustration to the right displays a summary for SA-213-T22
material.

The
refractory assistant calculates the amount of refractory
necessary for any given repair. This software enables the
user to place accurate orders with refractory suppliers
and estimate the total cost of materials for the job. Simply
enter the dimensions of the area, select temperature rating,
and refractory type and the calculation is performed at
the click of a button.

The
thickness assistant is a simple calculator performing fraction
to decimal conversions of data. This software provides the
user a calculated remaining tube wall thickness and associates
the numerical data to a general repair recommendation defined
by the user.
